MISSION STATEMENT

 

Equipping the Called #ETC is a non-profit organisation. Part of its mission is to provide conferences and resources for female ordinands & curates for the purpose of:

ENCOURAGING ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENT

#ETC is inclusive. It is not representative of a particular theological stance or tradition. Our vision is to equip all women called to ordination at these formative stages of ministry. We hope to achieve this by:

EXPANDING HORIZONS

​

We want to expand horizons by raising aspirations and providing a vision that moves beyond restrictive boundaries. We want to create opportunities to continue to learn from those women who have gone before us in ministry, and who are representing all positions of leadership within the church, as well as those making contributions to the world of academia, teaching in context, and mission.

EMPOWERING FEMALE LEADERS

We want to empower female leaders by providing a breadth of seminars covering a range of topics that challenge, provoke and/or simply encourage. It is our hope that #ETC will create opportunities for the giftings of women called to ordained ministry to be more readily recognised, developed and advanced.

We want to create a platform for female ordinands and curates to network and share experiences and advice.

ENCOURAGING ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENT

We want to encourage academic engagement by facilitating a diverse range of theological viewpoints, and by encouraging fearlessness and rigour in our thinking and reasoning.

We want to create an environment where it is safe to ask questions and to share different views.

We want to encourage women to boldly respond to the call of God on our lives.
